Rapid Tooling & Small Batch

RAPID TOOLING

Validate the design before you bet on a hard tool

Rapid tooling gives you real parts in the real material, fast and at a fraction of the cost of production tooling — so the design decision is made on measured parts, not on a 3D rendering.

7–15 days

First samples delivered in 7–15 days from drawing release, depending on part size and structure.

1–5,000 pcs

Flexible small-batch scheduling — validation quantities, pilot runs and market samples.

Less than half

Soft, aluminium or simple steel tool combinations cost less than half of a comparable hard tool.

Same discipline

Rapid does not mean loose. Every rapid tool goes through the same DFM review as production tooling.

PROCESS

Four steps from drawing to measured parts

1. Drawing review

Feasibility, wall thickness, draft and material check — plus the risks we would flag before cutting anything.

2. DFM & Moldflow

Gating proposal, filling and warpage prediction, and the shrinkage compensation plan.

3. Rapid tooling

Soft, aluminium or simple steel tool built and trialled on high-temperature equipment.

4. First-article inspection

Full-dimensional report on the first samples, with FAI documentation available.

WHEN IT MAKES SENSE

Rapid tooling fits these situations

  • Design validation — you need measured parts before design freeze
  • Pilot production — a few hundred units to test the market
  • Uncertain demand — produce what you need without heavy inventory
  • Bridge supply — keep a line running while the production tool is being built
  • Material trials — compare grades in real geometry instead of on paper

The upgrade path is clean. When volumes grow, the validated design carries straight over to production steel tooling.
